Practice Without Pressure, Inc., the Delaware non-profit that specializes in healthcare for people with disabilities, has three dentists for its Center on Sunset Lake Road in Newark.

Michael Matthias, D.M.D., M.A.G.D., Andrew C. Swiatowicz, D.D.S. and Hope Thomas-Glavin, D.D.S. will support the dental needs of children and adults with disabilities who come to PWP for training and treatment.

“Since we opened our Center two years ago, we have seen steady growth in the number of people who need our services, especially for dental care.”

Practice Without Pressure opened its first Practice & Procedure Center in Newark, Delaware in fall 2009.  
  
The center provides convenience and access to a range of services not available elsewhere.  It will be a healthcare home for people who need practice prior to treatment and anyone who seeks quality care.       
  
The Practice & Procedure Center will fill an unmet need for inclusive practice and treatment.  People who juggle medical and dental appointments to meet the diverse needs of family members will benefit directly from center services. This is particularly true for families that include people with disabilities.

At the center, people will receive practice as needed and treatment by professionals in general dentistry, dental hygiene, women’s health, phlebotomy, hair and nail care, with plans to offer family medicine in the future.

PWP is an approved Medicaid and Medicare provider, and will accept most major medical insurance for covered treatment.

The center is located just off Route 40, at 2470 Sunset Lake Road, minutes from I-95, 896 and Route 1 on the border of Newark and Bear.  The 1,700-square-foot facility, in the first phase of our planned expansion, has a welcoming, home-like exterior and features universal design with ramped entrances, wider doors and adaptive equipment for people in wheel chairs or with limited mobility for better access and care. 

Practice Without Pressure began seven years ago with a mission to help children and adults, especially those with disabilities, overcome their fear of procedures so they could receive medical, dental and personal care with dignity and respect.  Through PWP, people gain the skills they need to receive care without restraints and with confidence.

The center now fulfills the full intent of our mission to provide quality care with dignity and respect. Clients have a place where they can receive practice if they need it in procedures they fear and where everyone can receive quality care they deserve in one location.  To us, it makes perfect sense.
