Over 50 years ago, a dedicated group of parents gathered with a vision. That vision became the mission to give individuals with special needs a purpose….providing meaningful work was their answer! The vision, hope and passion of those parents is the cornerstone of what we do today at Handi-Crafters.

Handi-Crafters was founded in 1961 in Downingtown, Pennsylvania by a group of parents who were seeking a direction in life after high school for their differently-abled children.

Since we began, our mission has remained consistent. Our primary goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of our clients by helping them overcome their obstacles to entering the workplace, so they can find their highest level of productive employment and financial independence.

Perhaps most important of all, their daily acceptance into a social and work environment gives them a sense of self-esteem and a life with meaning and purpose.
Testimonial:
"This is the place that you want to give your all to!!! The care, the consideration... Handi-Crafters is a great place to work or volunteer." - Deborah L., Facebook
