This year's World Trade Center Delaware Annual Gala will be a Festival of Food and celebrate Delaware's Agriculture Industry. We will honor Secretary of Agriculture Michael Scuse's unique contribution to international trade. As part of the festivities, in addition to featuring dishes made with Delaware products, we will celebrate in music and song with entertainment from members of Wilmington Concert Opera: Zachary James, bass; Brenten Megee, tenor; and, Rebecca Sacks, mezzo-soprano. These talented performers will fill the Gold Ballroom with songs focusing on food. It will be opera as you have never heard it before.
We are very lucky that these very versatile performers can make time to join us out of their busy schedules. They have performed at venues as varied as the Metropolitan Opera and Lincoln Center in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and internationally known opera houses from Philadelphia to Brisbane, Madrid, London, Tokyo, and beyond. Their range of performances includes choral ensemble, concert, solo, jazz, and symphonic as well as opera. Their music ranges from the Baroque to the modern. They also have performed on Broadway, at the Tony Awards live from Radio City Music Hall, PBS Great Performances, Live from Lincoln Center, and even on television shows such as Late Show with David Letterman, the television series 30 Rock Murphy Brown, and The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The singers will be accompanied by Tim Crawford, a pianist and accompanist in the Philadelphia region. He plays both in opera, having performed the vocal scores to approximately 70 complete operas, and in instrumental music.
