Share: Paul’s Kitchen and Cullen-ary Company open December Saturdays

News ~ Dec 24, 2019 15:49  pm
Paul’s Kitchen and Cullen-ary Company, Team Cullen, Beach Time Distilling and George’s Mixes recently partnered to raise funds for the Milton Historical Society.

Cullen, former bass player for the rock band Bad Company, personal chef, sommelier, and founder of Paul’s Kitchen, wanted to give back to the community and has turned his Sunday pop-up market into a weekly event which has raised $2,500 for the historical society.

Nina Peery, Cullen’s right hand and personal assistant, introduced him to Mary Knight, who was director of Milton Historical Society at the time. They brainstormed on a way they could collaborate and raise both funds and awareness for the society, and they created Bloody Mary Sundays at Paul’s Sunday Market.

Cullen partnered with Mary Ann and Greg Christmas of Beach Time Distilling, and Greg David of George’s Mixes for Bloody Mary Sunday events which will take place every Sunday at Paul’s Kitchen and Cullen-ary Company, 32882 Cedar Grove Road, Lewes. Cullen himself can be found occasionally performing at the market as well as some of the area’s top performers like Vincent Varrassi, Jeff Evans, Al Frantic, David Amand, Bruce Anthony, Robert LaBlanc and many others.

A typical Sunday will find Chef Roberto Forgione manning the grill featuring Cullen’s handcrafted Italian sausage sandwiches, Sahlen’s hot dogs from Buffalo, N.Y., and breakfast sandwiches. Patrons can also buy items to go to create their own Domenica Sera dinner.

The market also showcases various local artisans, and shoppers might meet some special guests from the Nuevo Mundo Alpaca farm in Selbyville. Guests can enjoy a Bloody Mary, mimosa, or a glass of Cullen’s own Rosso di Toscana Wine, with proceeds from the first drink going to support the Milton Historical Society.

“I met Mary and her enthusiasm for the community persuaded me to work with her to raise funds and help promote the historical society,” said Cullen. “Come eat, drink, and enjoy music in our new indoor space for the winter months, and pick up an Italian gift basket to spread the love this holiday season.”

The pop-up market is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sundays year-round with special holiday shopping hours of 12 to 4 p.m. added on Saturdays in December.

Cook Philly

Paul's Rocks the ultimate Chef Table in Philadelphia

News ~ Oct 23, 2019 14:08  pm
Thursday, November 21, 7pm: Italian Holiday Feast with Paul Cullen and Claudia Baudo of Smackaroons

From the COOK website:

Madonna made the expression “Italians do it better” a thing, and when it comes to holiday cooking, we can’t argue with that. The Italian (and Italian American) holiday season is steeped in culinary traditions. To share some of them, we are excited to welcome back Paul Cullen, former Bad Company bassist turned personal chef and sommelier, and Claudia Baudo, Founder of Smackaroons, artisanal coconut delights made here in Philadelphia.

While touring Europe with Bad Company, Paul fell in love with fine wine, exquisitely prepared food and the culture that surrounds both. Years passed and Paul became a certified level sommelier, and he revisited the classic Italian recipes he learned from his grandmother and mother. He deepened his love — and knowledge — of Italian cuisine during visits to Italy, where he cooked with the local chefs, sipped with winemakers while strolling the vineyards and performed with Italian musicians. Paul brought all of these passions together in 2013 when he started an in-home dining service in the Rehoboth Beach area.

Following a welcome glass of vin brûlé (red wine with warming spices of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, star anise, vanilla, allspice and black peppercorns), enjoy festive menu that features an Italian artisan formaggio tasting plate; insalata of orange, fennel and black olives drizzled with Sicilian extra virgin olive oil; traditional lasagne alla Bolognese with handmade pasta and homemade ricotta; and tiramisu vin santo.

Market & Mary's Every Sunday

You don't want to miss!!!

News ~ Aug 20, 2019 19:09  pm
A quick read from Eating Rehoboth! So proud to say we are in our 7th season. Who knew 9 years ago with a phone call from Asheville to Bob Yesbek we would, along with the lovely Deb Griffin, put together a wildly successful food tour of Rehoboth Beach. #thisdoesntsuck We could do it without the support of our amazing Restaurants!
