The holiday season is upon us. It's easy to get wrapped up in what the commercial industries have turned the holiday season into. Buy, buy, buy....According to the media, that's how we show our family and friends we love them, right?

What we need to try to remember is the TRUE meaning of the holiday season.....GIVING. It's not about buying the biggest, the most or the highest price present(s)...it's about giving from the heart, making a difference in the lives of others when you can.

November 1st kicked off the #MyGivingStory contest, which is the yellow brick road leading to #GivingTuesday (more info on this to come). Thanks to you all, we have been blessed enough to be the recipient of grants from #MyGivingStory for the past two years. We are hoping for a three-peat, and we need your help to do it! There are several categories we have the opportunity to compete in, and with your help, we hope to be contenders in them all.

The world of rescue is hard. It’s full of heartaches and disappointment. This is the world of rescue we don’t share with you. We keep that aspect of what we do to ourselves. This week we are especially thankful for two of our volunteers. Let’s start with Amanda Macdonald, she is a member of our board and is always willing to take our broken hard cases. She thrives in helping those dogs make huge comebacks. Currently she is caring for our sweet Gio. She has been his voice and his comfort since he arrived to us. Second up this week is our very own Sherri Brickey who has graciously offered once again to help us with transportation for our furry friends. She will be going to pick up Cruz and his 3 new GRR best friends. She is driving over 8 hours round trip to ensure these babies make it to us safe and sound. We can’t do what we do without fosters and volunteers like Amanda and Sherri

We couldn’t be more proud to have them as part of our tribe.
