Tastebuds is a unique Best Buddies Maryland tasting event that features a select group of Baltimore area favorite restaurants serving signature dishes as they team up with a buddy pair, who serve as the “sous chefs” for the evening.

Guests enjoy sampling an array of culinary delights while sipping on signature drinks and cocktails. Guests also have the chance to bid on fabulous auction items.

This “Party with a Purpose” helps fund our mission of friendships, jobs and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Maryland.

Many great restaurants including The Baltimore Coffee & Tea Co., Brookside Market in Phoenix, Casa Mia’s, Charles Village Pub, Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, Mother’s North Grille, Grandstand Grille in Timonium, Manor Tavern ,The Still Timonium have already signed on.

The thing is that we can’t – and don’t – do it on our own. As a global volunteer movement, we count on the support of amazing volunteers (maybe someone just like you) to lead the way to a more inclusive world.

Whether you’re interested in becoming a buddy, moving our mission forward with fundraising support, or assisting at one of our signature community events like the Best Buddies Friendship Walk, we’re eager to get you plugged in.

Best Buddies Leadership Conference 2019

We look forward to watching our 100+ local leaders spread inclusion across Maryland!

Over 2,500 students, jobs participants, ambassadors, and community leaders from all over the world gathered at Indiana University from July 19th-22nd for the 2019 Best Buddies Leadership Conference.

Leadership Conference provides chapter leaders with and without disabilities personalized training that develops the leadership skills needed to organize a Best Buddies chapter and share the Best Buddies mission.

Over the past 30 years, the Best Buddies Leadership Conference (BBLC) has inspired thousands of leaders to be Best Buddies advocates and to bring about social change in their communities. BBLC is a once in a lifetime experience that unites Best Buddies leaders, volunteers, and community advocates from around the globe.

Conference attendees gain knowledge in order to effectively take action both individually and as part of a group for a common cause while discovering the importance of their actions, responsibilities, and energy.

Harford County Youth Featured on Big Screen!

Nine Harford County youth were featured as part of an annual Times Square video presentation!

Nine Harford County youth were featured on the big screen in the heart of New York City as a part of the National Down Syndrome Society’s annual Times Square video presentation on Sept. 14.

Photos of Ian Feiler, Brandon Pierre, Jake Smith, Chris Guercio, Paige Mihal, Siena Ferrara, Owen Kropp, Quinn McGeachy and Charlotte Cirincione were part of the video on the jumbo screen to highlight children, teens and adults with Down syndrome working, playing and learning alongside friends and family.

The National Down Syndrome Society’s annual video presentation in Times Square to raise awareness “in a big way about the gifts that people with Down syndrome bring to their communities,” according to the organization’s news release. These collective images promote acceptance and inclusion, which are the foundation of NDSS and the associated National Buddy Walk Program.
