THANKS TO YOU 2019 is an opportunity for the ACT in Faith Board of Directors and Staff to appreciate the entire ACT in Faith community - volunteers, service recipients, social service partners, and donors. 

This is a night dedicated to celebrating you!

Imagine yourself homeless and unemployed. Of all the barriers you are facing, two simple things could be preventing you from starting your journey forward: a photo ID and a birth certificate... the keys to unlocking employment and housing.

So far this year our donors have made it possible for us to fill 60 requests for these documents!

For an average of $51.50 per person, our donors have removed barriers that often prevent people from embarking on their road to rebuilding. For many, $51.50 may not sound like much...until you don't have it.

Earlier this year we received a VERY generous donation.

The donor requested that a specified portion go towards making a BIG impact on one family...a family whose lives we knew could be drastically bettered by the support.

After much discernment we determined "Connie", a single grandparent raising her orphaned grand-daughter, had a need that best fit the donor's request. Like so many single parents, she juggles a FT job, the schedule of a middle school-aged child, and helping her own aging parents. Her old car was not only draining her finances because of repeated repairs but it was flat-out unsafe to drive. On "Connie's" income, a newer, safer vehicle was simply unattainable.

Through the generosity of our donor, we were able to give "Connie" enough for a downpayment on a gentle used small SUV so she has affordable monthly payments. We followed up with her last week and she's doing GREAT...or should we say she's "cruising."

Thank you to the donor and to our friends at Dave's Automotive Repair Ent. for ensuring "Connie's" purchase was safe and affordable.

If you are patient, empathetic, possess great listening skills, and have a passion for our mission you could be a perfect fit.

We are looking for someone who wants the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many. ACT in Faith needs volunteers to fill 10am-12pm Client Advocate shifts. 

Duties include listening, speaking with those requesting financial assistance, completing requestor's intake form, and fielding occasional phone calls. 

Training and on-boarding will be provided. 

A background in Stephen Ministry (or a similar ministry), social work, counseling, nursing, or similar fields is helpful. 

Current volunteers describe their experience as humbling, rewarding, and heart-filling.
