BRC specializes in offering hands-on, inquiry-based programs that increase awareness and appreciation for nature. Our academic year programs are available to school, homeschool, scout and youth groups.
We strive to help teachers meet curriculum needs. Programs are correlated to Pennsylvania Core Standards, Next Generation Science Standards and National STEM Standards. Don’t see a program that you are looking for? Contact us!

Programs are tailored for different grade bands, and offered at our 318-acre Myrick Conservation Center and Saalbach Farm property. Some programs can be conducted at your school or other location of your choice for an additional flat fee.Your school may qualify for financial assistance through one of our education grants.

The Myrick Conservation Center is located 1760 Unionville-Wawaset Road in West Chester. It is 6 miles west of West Chester and three miles east of Unionville in the scenic rolling hills of Chester County, PA. The 318-acre property features natural areas that include stream, forest, field and pond communities as well as agricultural land.

The Brandywine Red Clay Alliance offices are located here.

Saalbach Farm is located between Route 30 and Kings Highway in West Caln Township, just outside of Coatesville, PA. This 250-acre farm is primarily agricultural land but features a pristine section of Rock Run, a tributary of the Brandywine Creek. Natural areas include forest and wetland communities. Saalbach Farm is convenient for Downingtown and Coatesville Area School Districts.

About Us

Brandywine Red Clay Alliance, formed in 2015 from a merger of the nation’s two oldest small watershed conservation organizations, is your local leader in protecting the environment. We organize volunteers for action, connect students of all ages and recreation enthusiasts to the outdoors, improve the quality and quantity of water, and unite our members in standing tall for the natural resources of our communities.

Our work began in 1945, when a handful of concerned citizens realized poorly treated wastewater and soil erosion posed serious threats to our creeks and water supplies.

We’ve made tremendous strides in the decades since but there’s still much to do as development continues exploding in the Brandywine and Red Clay Watersheds.

Celebrating over 35 years of getting kids wet and muddy every day!

Our weekly summer day camps include programs for kids ages four to fifteen. We inspire appreciated and knowledge of the natural environment by getting outside away from modern day technology. Your child will unplug from electronics and plug into nature as they participate in age appreciate activities such as finding frogs and insects in the pond, building forts in the forest, learning wilderness survival skills, water sports and adventurous day treks. They will build character, forge friendships, and be challenged to become the explorer and adventurer they naturally are.
