Join us for a special summertime informative, informal series at the Music School's Milford Branch. All programs feature local and regional experts chatting with us about varying musical topics. Series is geared to music lovers age 12 and up.

"Orchestra Leadership: Behind the Curtain" welcomes Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra Music Director Julien Benichou as he introduces us to the inner workings of a professional orchestra, including exploring music selection, auditions, and even how an orchestra pays its bills.

This talk is perfect for the orchestral novice and enthusiast alike. Free and open to the public!

This year’s new and improved Open House shows off the Music School from every angle. Four music venues, outside and indoors, feature rock, jazz, bluegrass, and folk as well as classical performances AND the opportunity to see rehearsals and works in progress. Fifteen-minute sessions allow parents and their young ones to experience the Music School’s multisensory approach to early childhood music education. A huge Instrument Petting Zoo has teachers introducing visitors to nearly two dozen different musical instruments.

Current adult students and parents of school-age students are on hand to answer questions, as are faculty members and administrators. Staff members are on hand to give tours of the school and assist with registrations. Participants can make their own instruments out of unexpected materials, visit the photo booth, and enjoy food trucks – including gelato.
